The purpose of the Qualitative Research Methods Concentration is to engage students with complex epistemologies and methodologies of a diverse range of qualitative research methods. Epistemology, reflexivity, analytic rigor, participation, scholarly contribution, and public relevance are among the tenets guiding this concentration. The structure of the concentration is a foundational course “Conceptual and Methodological Foundations of Qualitative Research”, student selection of at least 3 courses from among different electives offered each year, and final presentations of qualitative research studies culminate the concentration.
